In Toronto, ON, Canada, February 3, 2021, Michael Dodgson decided to stop being a part of the problem and start being a part of the solution.
By applying his many years of business, sales and marketing experience, Mr. Dodgson developed a theory about how countries worldwide could better help their citizens get back on their feet during and after this COVID-19 pandemic.
The theory was based on the fact that there are so many people out of work, and some of the hardest hit are older workers. Often over 50 years of age, these mature workers have so much expertise and such a strong desire to keep working that it is a shame when they cannot find jobs.
Some feel that ageism is a serious factor. Huffington Post published a heart-wrenching video titled "The Harmful Effects of Ageism."

Mr. Dodgson's experience has been similar: "For years, I struggled to find a job and employer that would appreciate my skills. Unfortunately, it never really worked out." Depression, anxiety, fear all set in and made the situation worse.
But from these many experiences, Mr. Dodgson developed some new insights that lead to this new theory of work: age and experience is a scary and intimidating skill to younger business owners and managers.
Yet, businesses all around the world are facing genuine and difficult challenges. Problems that hold back many companies revolve around money and is causing them to become uncompetitive. In turn, this is essentially causing them to lose money every day because they do not have the expertise they need to solve the problem.
If only there was a way to help businesses safely obtain expertise.
Thus, Fractional50.com was envisioned to solve this problem. Providing part-time (fractional) and long term staff is cost-effective and becomes less intimidating when there is an experienced people-manager to help mitigate the fear and communication gaps between business people and the experts.
We call upon all companies to shore up their fortitude and encourage them to help out during the COVID crisis. We encourage business owners not to work harder but smarter. We do that.
